Aus der Vielfalt seines Schaffens (vgl. Anlage 2: wichtigste Lebensdaten Blonskis), hier seien umfangreiche Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Psychologie, Geschichte und Philosophie genannt, möchte ich bei meinen Ausführungen den Schwerpunkt auf seine Arbeit als Pädagoge legen. Beginnend mit dem ideologisch-historischen Kontext werde ich anschliessend auf die alte und neue Schule eingehen um dann an der Arbeitsschule zu beschreiben, wie Blosnkis Ideen praktisch umgesetzt werden sollten. Eine Betrachtungsweise der Arbeitsschule im aspect, wie ursprünglich geplant, muss leider entfallen, da dies den Rahmen meines Teils der schriftlichen Aus-arbeitung sprengen würde.

Wenn wir uns vor Augen halten, dass Reformpädagogik programmatisch Kinder und Jugendliche zum Lernen am und im Leben ermutigen wollte, ist doch interessant, wie das einem sozialistischen Reformpädgogen gelingt.
In seinem oben erwähnten Buch tritt Blonski für eine Verstärkung organisierter Erziehung ein, die Grundlage des revolutionären Bildungswesens in der neuen russischen Gesellschaft sein sollte. Das Erziehungsziel der neuen sozialistischen Gesellschaft conflict der „neue Mensch“, der sein ganzes Leben in den Dienst des Kollektivs zu stellen bereit ist und der sich vom westlichen, nach Individualität strebenden Menschen unterscheidet.

Der deutsche Philosoph Karl Jaspers hat einmal gesagt: Vor dem Absturz hilft nur die Kommunikation mit anderen. Dieser Perspektive folgend und vor dem aktuellen Hintergrund des schlechten Abschneidens deutscher Schüler bei der PISA - Studie ergibt sich für mich die Ausgangsfragestellung: „ Inwieweit ist das, was once Blonski 1919 in seinem Buch „Die Arbeitsschule“ im Hinblick auf eine neue Schule propagierte heute noch aktuell und verwertbar?“

Ich möchte die Fragestellung in einem Dreischritt von ideologisch - historischen Kontext, Vergleich alte und neue Schule und Darstellung der Arbeitsschule näher thematisieren. Im abschließenden Fazit nehme ich noch einmal Rekurs auf die Ausgangsfragestellung, die sich anhand mehrerer Beispiele konkretisiert.
